I teach both complete beginners and advanced students. My teaching approach integrates traditional classical methods with modern pedagogical practices, ensuring that students develop strong technical foundations while enjoying the learning process.

Lessons emphasise the holistic development of musicianship through listening, singing, reading, and playing, cultivated together as an integrated skill set.

My aim as a teacher is to inspire students to engage deeply with music and to develop an interest that will remain with them for life. I work successfully with students of all ages, from 4 years upwards, and am known for being friendly, patient, and supportive—qualities essential to effective and confident learning.

Many students come to me after completing Grade 3 examinations, having found it difficult to progress further. In these cases, I begin by asking a series of key questions to understand their musical challenges and to rebuild confidence, technique, and motivation.

A lot of students come to me after passing grade 3 exams, found it difficult to continue, I will ask them the same questions :

​

Can you read music (sight reading)?

Do you have a perfect pitch?

Can you sing while you play?

​

If the answers are no, you didn't have a good music foundation. While you may pass some grades, you will struggle to continue.

My strength is classical but can teach jazz and pop as well. I can also accompany for performances and ABRSM / Trinity exams for all instruments. I can teach piano for leisure or focus on graded studies.

100% success rate in ABRSM exams,80% of my pupils achieving either merit or distinction.
